SEE THE DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(if you have any syptoms)
the signs of diabetes include: sweaty hands/feet, feeling sick, feeling drowsy, headaches, blurry vision, etc
ways you can *try* to avoid diabetes: having a healthy lifestyle also, if you are worried about it, diabetes wont affect EVERYONE in the family, it is known to *skip* a gene and possibly come again down the line in you or somebody else on your family, i am the only one in my family that is diabetic and it came from WAAAAYYY down the line

Having a family history of diabetes does NOT mean that you will get diabetes. History is the map what you do with the map, where you go, is up to you. Diabetes (type 2) happens because you over eat on carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the only food nutrient that invokes an insulin response. Insulin responds to take the glucose (sugar) out of the blood.
When you over eat on carbs, year after year after year, you do one of two things:
1. You burn out your beta cells of the pancreas. The beta cells are where your insulin is created.
2. You become insulin resistant. Insulin resistance: Every cell in the body has receptors. These receptors open to in response to insulin. When the body is producing an over abundance of insulin because there is an over abundance of carbs coming into the body, the receptors become insulin resistant. They refuse to open. The cells need the glucose but the receptors have become “immune” to the call of the insulin to open. It is then said that you are insulin resistant.
Carbohydrates are sugar in any form. Corn is loaded with sugar. Breakfast cereals are loaded with sugar. Learn more about carbohydrates. Then make sure you limit the amount of carbohydrates you eat each day.
Next you need to get out and exercise – play, have fun — lots of running, biking, swimming, etc.
This is the way you can change your family map. This is the way you prevent type 2 diabetes.
Good luck and God bless you!
I had no symptoms when my type 2 diabetes was diagnosed through other blood tests and there is no diabetes in the family. If you are talking about type 2 then healthy eating and exercise should keep you free from diabetes but see your doctor for a blood test. Good luck

My family also has diabetes and we all look after each other to see if we have signs of it. The most common ones are, being really thirsty for water or more likely juice. Also if you are going to the bathroom a lot more. If you are losing weight, have stomach pains, and or are feeling dizzy.
I first of all appreciate your interest to stop diabetes, it not only good to you, it is also good to your family, for the next generation, to this community, to your nation and to this world.
